A little over three years after its initial Plan of Development to facilitate the optimization of the Deepwater Tano / Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block was rejected by government, Aker Energy, a leading oil exploration and production company, has been granted an extension by government for the submission of its Plan of Development.

That’s according to a press statement issued by Aker Energy Ghana Limited and sighted by Citi Business News.

The Plan of Development is a legal requirement that details the plan to develop an oil and gas field in an integrated way to produce the hydrocarbon reserves optimally by considering the technical, economic as well as Health, Safety and Environmental aspects of the project.

According to the release, the decision to grant the extension follows uncertainties about supplier commitments triggered by the war in Ukraine.

The company further added that the Government of Ghana, Aker Energy and its licensed partners have agreed to work together to resolve the issues to facilitate timely submission of the Plan of Development.
